Giving Tuesday
Did you know that Towne Street Theatre has been around for 30 years? We’ve been an integral part of Los Angeles Theatre for three decades! As the year winds down and we get closer to Thanksgiving (how can it be this time of year already?!) a certain day approaches that is important to all charities and non profits (including Towne Street Theatre): The International day of Giving, #GivingTuesday.
What is Giving Tuesday, you might ask.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: "a day that encourages people to do good. The day inspires generosity worldwide and aims to create global impact driven by local action. It is now driving a net increase in giving. In 2021, an estimated $2.7 Billion were donated in twenty-four hours in the U.S. alone."
What does this mean for Towne Street?
Your donations will help Towne Street continue providing theatre as a service for the community for years to come. Specifically, for our 30th season, your donations will allow us to add additional elements to next year’s audience favorite, the return of the TST 10 Minute Play Festival, such as film and youth components.
GivingTuesday is a way for you to have a lasting impact on the legacy of Towne Street Theatre. When you donate, you become an active part of Towne Street by contributing to a community that reaches from Los Angeles all the way to the shores of New Zealand. Each donation, large and small, has a positive impact on not just our artists, but our writers, producers, directors, designers, technicians, administrators and more.
This GivingTuesday is on November 29th. Can't donate on the 29th? Don't worry, your donation is tax deductible until December 31st.
